In November 1989, Pastor Pat convened the first meeting of The Living Word Church in a small living room in Elizabeth Township. Although there were only five families gathered at that first meeting, the life-changing faith in God that still characterizes the church was present. Together they caught a vision of today's Living Word: an international outreach center, personal in its ministry but powerful in its scope.

Through His grace and for His glory, the vision God gave to build an interdenominational, interracial, and intergenerational congregation is being fulfilled. Today, The Living Word is taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Pastor Pat Murray has been the visionary leader of the church from the very beginning. Pastor Pat and his wife Jackie served on several ministry teams before founding The Living Word. After extended months of prayer, the Lord filled Pastor Pat's heart with an unquenchable desire to see the hurting multitudes come to Christ. His vision is to build a church that preaches the Word of God, pastors believers, prepares disciples, and plant leaders in every nation of the world.
