Our Nursery Department

We know the importance of ministering to babies and toddlers. We endeavor to meet not only the physical and emotional needs of the children, but to also teach them about Jesus and how much He cares for them. Small children may not understand the world around them, but they do know when they are loved.  Here at Living Word Church, we love babies and toddlers! The Nursery’s vision is to provide excellence in the areas of: teaching the Word of God and ministering the love of Jesus Christ to babies, toddlers, and their parents.  During class time, you can expect your child to be:  hugged, taught, prayed for, fed a snack; and free to play in a clean, safe, environment

Nursery Classes

Our Nurseries are open 10 minutes prior to service and run concurrent with our adult services.   We have one of the cleanest, state-of-the-art facilities anywhere, with a loving and caring staff. Our little ones are taught in a peaceful, fun atmosphere with age-appropriate songs, lessons & activities, and snacks. We will minister to your child with tender, loving care.

The nursery is divided into several age groups:  (4 weeks -12 months),(12-24 months), and (24-36 months)

Here are some ways to help make your child’s stay in our classes peaceful & happy:

  • -Bring everything your child will need during his/her stay (Diapers or training pants, extra clothing, bottle or cup, pacifier, etc.).
  • -Do not use the Nursery as “punishment” for misbehavior in the sanctuary.
  • -Encourage your child that the Nursery is a safe, loving & fun place to be.
  • -After service is over, come back to pick up your child as soon as possible.
  • -Take the opportunity to serve in this ministry once a month as a Parental Partner.
  • -Further information available at our children’s check in counters.

Our Preschool Department

At Living Word Church, preschoolers are important to us.  The ministry team counts it a privilege to present God’s Word in exciting, age-appropriate classes that 3 to 5 year olds can understand. We do this through fun and exciting Bible stories, games, singing, snacks, and crafts, designed specifically for the preschool-aged child. This hands-on learning approach enhances the children’s ability to learn and retain the Godly principles needed to be successful in life, and can lead them into a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  We also use thematic surroundings to enhance the lessons and encourage student interest and involvement.  Our preschool ministries open 10 minutes before services start and are available during our weekend services and during special ministry times.  On Wednesday Nights our preschoolers are involved in our Royal Rangers and MPACTs program.  

The preschool is divided into several age groups:

  • 3 year olds -  Where younger children can feel safe to express and expand their imaginations.
  • 4 years olds - Four year olds are kept involved as they explore God’s Word in an exciting environment.
  • 5 year olds - Five year olds can explore the wonder of God’s word in a fun, faith-filled environment.

Our Elementary Departments

Our children’s church is designed to teach boys and girls ages 6- 12 years old how to be involved in a regular worship service.  You’ll find that our children’s church parallels our adult service in many ways. We feature praise and worship, altar ministry, offerings, Bible preaching, ushers, greeters, and altar workers.  We also feature object lessons, puppets, skits, games, and loads of fun.  You’ll also find many dedicated adults that lead the kids in worship and altar ministries.  Children’s church is held in our largest room and has an exciting theatre theme.  Our elementary service is open 10 minutes prior to the start of services and is available during weekends and special meeting.  On Wednesday Nights children are involved in Royal Rangers and MPACT programs.

On Wednesday nights our children ages 3-12 are actively involved in Royal Rangers and MPACTs.

RoyalRangers is a ministry that reaches across the United States and in over65 nations of the world.  It motivates boys spiritually through Biblestudy and memorization, devotionals and Christian role models.  Boysare strengthened mentally by an advanced awards-based weekly program. Further, the boys increase their physical prowess by participating inage-specific activities and recreation.  Finally, they are introducedto church, community, and nature related activities to develop theirsocial skills and awareness.

MPactGirls Clubs is a program for winning girls to Jesus Christ through loveand acceptance.  MPACT provides an environment of support andaccountability while helping girls to develop their gifts andabilities.  In addition, girls build life long relationships withmentors who encourage girls to be spiritual leaders.
