Corporate Prayer and Fasting

The Bible tells of many times when Jesus took time in solitude and went to pray (Mark 1:35, Matt 14:23).

Jesus found it necessary to spend regular time with His Father in prayer.  He knew that prayer opens the door between heaven and earth and unleashes God’s power and will. 

His instruction to us is to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17) because “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availaeth much” (James 5:16).

Prayer is communicating with God – your Creator – the one who loves you more than you will ever be able to imagine.

God desires your love and to communicate with you through prayer.  Because you choose to pray, your life is changed and the lives of others are changed.  God in you is powerful and prayer is the key that unlocks that power.

At Living Word Church we believe that everyone who claims Jesus as their Lord and Savior has an innate desire to draw close to Him.

It is our desire to create an environment of prayer where you can seek to know God more personally, that it will ignite an unquenchable passion for Jesus, and in turn your life will look much like Jesus’ life as you minister in His love and power.

We hope that this website will lead you into a very focused time of prayer where you will join with other believers, seeking God’s will on very specific prayer points such as for our nation, for the world, for our city, for your family, and for the economy.

There is particular power when you combine prayer with fasting.

 Fasting can be anything from a full fast to a partial fast, depending on what your body can sustain. 

We will have a monthly time of prayer and fasting to be held the last weekend of every month beginning Friday and ending on Sunday.  We will conclude the monthly time of prayer and fasting with a 7 pm Sunday concert of prayer.
