Dad is BACK!

by mpmurray

It has been a long hard road for my father to get back into the pulpit. Many health set-backs have, up until now, taken him out of the ministry spot light for the last 2 years. Mom & Dad have fought courageously the fight of faith and have come back healthy and ready to declare God’s Word stronger than ever!

I am thrilled to tell you that Dad will be bringing the WORD to the Living Word this weekend. You do not want to miss the “Yellow Glove” message. Saturday night and Sunday morning will be a great day in many ways. Come and celebrate the victory with the whole church family.

New DLWC Website!

by rfarr

Welcome LWC’ers! As you can see, we have launched a new website and we are very excited about the many new ways that you will be able to get connected and stay in touch with everything going on here at the Living Word Church.

Aside from the obvious appearance changes, there are a couple of key additions to the site that you will want to familiarize yourself with. We have added LWC PeopleSpace, an online forum, where we’ll be able to talk about events, connect with small group members, and share our thoughts. I can see this tool becoming very important in the near future as all you bloggers out there begin to help us take full advantage of having our own forums.

Another great feature is our new online small group directory. This directory will be much more user friendly and since our site has search capabilities, the data you are looking for will be much easier to find!

You now have the ability to register with www.dlwc.org, and doing so will provide you access to the forums and more. As we move forward, we will be able to grant access to certain data and events to allow many church leaders to assist us with our content. If you want to register, just go to the main page (or anywhere you see a login box) and select the ‘register’ link in the login box located on the lower right hand side. Fill out the quick form and you will be sent an email confirmation that is used for verification purposes.

So what does all this mean? Well, over the next few months, the process for getting information out to you will be quicker and more simple. You dig? Yeah, I like it too! We’ll communicate to you more in the near future regarding the new features of this site.

Take your time and poke around the new dlwc.org. If you find any problems, go to our contact tab or fill out a comment below and tell us all about it. Also, we accept positive feed back too, so feel free to share your thoughts, but remember, I get to see your comments before they are posted! :)

Regards,
Bob Farr

Next Week at LWC (Week of 5-12)

by mpmurray

I could not be more excited about Prophet Victor Boateng being at LWC this weekend. Friday & Saturday at 7PM and Sunday at 10AM. He is a prophet with powerful evidence in his life. His aim is to assist the Body of Christ to do what God has called us to do. With this kind of precise prophetic insight, you do not want to miss any of these services.

Next week we finish up the Q&A series for 2008. It is always my desire to hear from God, and deliver a message of truth and life at our gatherings. The “You Asked For It” series continues to stir up the church to dig into their Bibles and compare notes with this series. For the final week, I’ll be dealing with some widely asked topics: The Sabbath Day, predestination, divorce and are we living in the “last days”. May 17-18 will be powerful times at the Living Word.

If you have any questions that you would like to share, please do not hesitate to write. Even the though the series concludes, we will always be available for you and no question is a bad question. We love you and are excited about what God is doing in you! (Philippians 1:6) “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Be Blessed,

Pastor Pat

You Asked For It - Part 3

by mpmurray

I’m excited to bring the third part of the “You Asked For It” series coming next weekend (April 26-27). The response has been great and evidently begun quite a BUZZ in conversations after each message. Remember the ground rules . . . agree on the essentials and walk in love with the non-essentials.

Next time we are going to deal with Santa, interracial marriages, alcohol and homosexuality. It should be a great opportunity to invite unchurched friends and loved ones to LWC.

We still want to hear from you . . . see you at The Living Word.

Great Question!

by mpmurray

I have been getting some great questions since starting the YOU ASKED FOR IT series. LWCer’s have gotten a “2nd wind” with regard to asking some great questions. For instance, today I had someone to ask, “Does taking fertility drugs and artificial insemination show a lack of faith in the lord?” My answer is no.
Every believer wants to walk in strong faith. The reality is that we all exercise faith everyday that we live. The essence of faith in God is no different than exercising faith in people. Strong faith is based upon PREDICTABLE FAITHFULNESS of the one being trusted. Experience verifies whether someone is GOOD TO THEIR WORD. Faith grows for all of us as FAITHFUL EXPERIENCES will verify. The more that you know about God, the more you trust Him. The #1 way of knowing God accurately is through the WORD!
Faith is really quite a case by case condition of the heart.
The more that you know the Lord and become acquainted with the way that He functions (in your Bible), the easier it is for us to predict how he will respond to all of our LIFE challenges. In order to trust anyone (including God) you must have a basis of relationship; how they think, the way they talk, knowledge of their will, etc. The more that you know the Lord, his promises and his dedication to keep covenant with the redeemed, the easier it is to know what to do day to day.
So, fertility drugs or no fertility drugs don’t tell me if you have faith. Faith comes in all shapes and sizes and your faith will grow every year if you make Him your life’s pursuit. Your ability to trust God today is based upon how well you’ve known him in the Word and by experience up until now. Taking the drugs is not the point . . . doing what Jesus says to you is. The clearer you hear His voice, the easier it is to believe.

I want to hear from YOU!

We have gotten many comments regarding the “You Ask For It Series” that we began this month. Your new questions are great and very thought provoking. We’ll be covering 25 different topics during this series and I plan on making this an annual series. Of course, this blog is based upon the same principle as the Q&A series.

This weekend I’ll be dealing with PLASTIC SURGERY, SPIRITUAL GIFTS, UNPARDONABLE SIN, AND SUICIDE. These questions have been asked by millions all over the world, and the Bible has great things to say about these issues. I would love to see you at the weekend gatherings with the LWC family.

We have set up this blog so that we can discuss things that are important to you. Log on a write any time. Dr. Pat Murray
